Col. Archer IRVINE-FORTESCUE³⁸ was born on 6 July 1880. He died on 10 March 1959. Colonel Archer Irvine-Fortescue was educated at Aberdeen Grammar School, Aberdeen, 1 He graduated from University of Edinburgh with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.)and he graduated from University of Aberdeen with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.). He then graduated from University of Aberdeen, in 1901 with a Bachelor of Surgery (Ch.B.).

He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches four times. He was decorated with the award of 1914 Star in 1914.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Royal Army Medical Corps.He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919. He was member of the Anglo-Persian Commission between 1919 and 1921.1 He fought in the Waziristan Campaign between 1922 and 1923, where he was again mentioned in despatches.

He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Kincardineshire.He lived at Swanbister, Orkney Islands, and he lived at Kingcausie, Kincardineshire. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kincardineshire.

He was Inspector of Medical Services between 1926 and 1929 at Iraq. He fought in the Kurdistan Campaign in 1927. He was decorated with the award of Order of St. Stanislas of Russia (with Swords), the of Order of the Lion and Sun of Persia (2nd class). the award of Jubilee Medal in 1935. He was decorated with the award of Coronation Medal in 1937.

He was Deputy Director of Medical Services for Scottish Command in September 1939 at Edinburgh, and he was Assistant Director of Medical Services for No. 4 Military Mission in 1940.1 He was Assistant Director of Medical Services for British Adisory Staff HQ, Polish Setltement Corps in 1946.
