423. Edward FORTESCUE of Spridlestone19 was born about 1637. Estimate He died on 24 May 1702 in Spridlestone, Devon. Edward planted elms in November 1677, to be sold in due time for the benefit of the poor in his parish at Brixton. He was churchwarden at that time. In 1819 sixteen of them were cut down for this purpose. His estates passed to his daughter Rebecca since his sons did not marry
