Emigrated to Australia in 1852 with son George in "Statesman" 875 tons Master: Capt Godfrey who pioneered sailing the Great Circle Routes. Prospected for Gold at Forest Creek.

James FORTESCUE of Longstowe and Mary Ann WEST were married on 6 September 1825 in Great Stukeley, Hunts. Mary Ann WEST⁷⁹ was born in 1803 in Godmanchester, Hunts. She died on 19 May 1870 in Paddington, London.¹²⁹
